2024 Benefit Auction, Beach Preview, and Gala

March signals a flurry of activity for the Jonathan Arts Foundation as we redouble our fundraising efforts for the year. There’s the return of our highly anticipated online auction, which will run from March 16th through to March 26th, alongside the Beach Preview on March 14th which will feature over 30 artworks by local artists. And finally, our Gala, entitled 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' which will take place on March 23rd. This year our keynote speaker will be actor and art historian Peter Weller. The night will also include entertainment, artist talks, and a live auction by auctioneer Grant Snyder. (image by Charissa Smith)

New Acquisition by Joseph Kleitsch

We're proud to announce the Jonathan Art Foundation's latest acquisition, Jeweled Hills (circa 1922) by Joseph Kleitsch (1882-1931). Jeweled Hills is the first Kleitsch painting to be collected by the Jonathan Art Foundation and is on display at the Town Club. Kleitsch's canvases are a virtual kaleidoscope of color, soaked with the California sun. Born in Hungary, Joseph Kleitsch was considered one of the premier painters in the early California School of Impressionism and we are thrilled to have such a landmark painting in the collection.

Jonathan Art Foundation Virtual Docent Tour

In response to the social distancing restrictions of the covid crisis of 2020-21, JAF created a virtual docent tour of art at the Jonathan Club. This video is expertly hosted by past and present JAF presidents Rich Reitzell, Judy Jenkins, and Dale-Harbour Day. We thank the University of Irvine School of Social Sciences and Ashley Media for their support on this project.

JAF Invites You to Join the 2024 Circles of Support!

Despite the challenges we've all experienced these past couple of years, our belief that world class art is timeless remains unshaken, and we have come to more fully appreciate our magnificent collection. The Jonathan Art Foundation in its quiet way ensures that our collection is protected, preserved, and beautifully presented. We also use our knowledge, relationships and judgment to improve and strengthen the collection in ways that enhance our facilities in Downtown LA and Santa Monica. Your donations help us maintain that mission.

JAF Circles members are treated to exclusive tours of elite private collections an exhibitions, art & wine events, and other interesting speakers and venues.
