Christian Siemer (1874-1940)
Born in Adelaide, Australia in 1874, Christian Siemer emigrated to America in 1913 and remained a resident until his death on February 6, 1940. He is best remembered for a series of mural-size canvases of Los Angeles which were commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce to promote the area. An Impressionist, his compositions generally contain architecture.
