In the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the century-old, private Jonathan Club houses a relatively unknown treasure for the connoisseur. The Jonathan art collections consist of California Impressionist paintings from renowned masters–including Franz Bischoff, Alson Clark, Frank Cuprien, Jean Mannheim, Edgar Payne, Granville Redmond, Jack Wilkinson Smith, and William Wendt–as well as modern works, many of which have been the product of a robust Resident Artist program.

With the publication of Art at the Jonathan Club, these fine works of art are now more broadly available to all those who enjoy beauty and history. Extensive essays by Richard W. Reitzell, Nat B. Read, Nancy Dustin Wall Moure, Geoffrey Beaumont, and Tressa Miller, richly illustrated with archival photographs and color plates, offer an in-depth view of the treasures at the Jonathan Club.
