D. J. Hall was born in Los Angeles in 1951.  She received her BFA at University of Southern California in 1973.  She was awarded an Artist’s Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1977.  She has shown extensively  around the country and around Southern California at such venues as the Palm Springs Art Museum, Long Beach Museum of Art, and Riverside Art Museum.  In 2009 Ms. Hall was included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition, "The Lens and the Mirror: Self-Portraits from the Collection, 1957-2007".
